Junior Sports
The Athletic Department offers a variety of family and children’s programs. The corner stone of children’s programs is Swim & Gym. The class runs from early January until early March on Saturday mornings. Children ages 4 through 10 participate. The gym portion stresses fitness, motor skill development, movement skills, and balance and agility. These skills are taught through the use of games, individual instruction, and small group instruction. The teacher/student ratio averages approximately 6:1.
During Holidays we offer vacation camps for children ages 4 and up. These daylong camps include fitness and games, pool activities, bowling, and arts and crafts. Drop off is generally at 9 am with pick up at 4:30 p.m. Children are served lunch and a morning and afternoon snack.
Through the ACC Rod & Gun Club we offer a variety of family oriented outdoor activities. These include hunter safety courses, fishing trips and hunting opportunities for children who have completed their hunter safety course.
The athletic department specializes in training children ages 10 and up for competitive athletic pursuits. This includes basketball instruction, soccer, and sports specific conditioning for nearly all competitive sports. The staff of the ACC has many former college athletes whose experience is valuable in training young athletes.
